]]>
Today we’re excited to introduce Zapier for Day One, a powerful new integration that helps you journal more consistently by sending information from other apps directly into your journal without any manual work.

Whether you want to save articles you read, track your completed tasks, archive social posts, or collect ideas and meeting notes, Zapier lets you build workflows that support your routines. Instead of switching between apps or copy/pasting information, your journal can now update itself quietly in the background.

This feature is available with Day One Premium in version 2025.23 or higher of Day One for iPhone and iPad, Day One for Android, and Day One on the web.

Why Automate Your Journaling?

Life moves quickly, and it’s easy for meaningful details to slip through the cracks. Instead of relying on memory or manually copying information into Day One, automated workflows help your journal stay up to date with far less effort.

Automation helps you:

  • Capture more of your life, without doing more work: Every saved article, completed task, or new idea becomes part of your personal archive in Day One.
  • Build consistent routines: If you struggle to remember what happened during the week, automated logs fill in details that you can reflect on later.
  • Create richer stories with less friction: Your journal becomes a living record that evolves alongside the apps you already use.

What is Zapier?

Zapier connects over 8,000+ apps so they can work together through automated workflows. These automations run whenever something happens in one app (like saving an article, publishing a post, creating a task, or ending a meeting) and then send that information to another app. With Day One’s integration, Zapier can automatically create new journal entries based on activity happening in the apps you already use.

Here are just a few examples you can set up in seconds:

  • Turn new Google Docs into Day One entries to keep a record of drafts, writing sessions, or brainstorming.
  • Log completed Todoist tasks as daily wins so you can see your progress.
  • Archive every YouTube upload to track your creative projects automatically.
  • Capture new posts from WordPress, Instagram for Business, or Bluesky to preserve your digital presence in your journal.
  • Save new Reddit posts that match a search to follow topics, communities, or inspiration you care about.
  • Log your Zoom meetings after they end to make meeting notes part of your daily record.
  • Capture ideas from new Evernote notes and keep your thinking organized in one place.

We’ve built over 30 ready-to-use Zap templates to help you get started quickly, and to give you some ideas for what’s possible with Zapier.

Your Privacy Comes First

Your journal is private, and that doesn’t change with Zapier. Day One’s Zapier integration is primarily designed so Zapier can add new entries to your journal, but it cannot read or access any content that already exists inside your journals. All Day One journal entries (whether written manually or created through Zapier) remain end-to-end encrypted and visible only to you.

Day One supports two Zapier actions:

  1. Create Journal Entry (a write action)
  2. List Journals (a search action that only returns journal names, colors, and IDs for automation setup)

These capabilities let Zapier create entries and allow advanced users to route entries into specific journals, but never expose journal content.

Zapier can access:

  • The names, colors, and IDs of your journals. Just note that for end-to-end encrypted journals, journal names are still encrypted, so only the ID can be accessed by Zapier, not the name.
  • Your Day One email address, user ID, and display name
  • The ability to create new entries in your journals

Zapier cannot access:

  • The content of any journal entries
  • Existing entries or metadata inside them
  • Private keys or encryption keys

Use Day One’s Prebuilt Zap Templates

To make it easy to get started, we’ve published over 30 ready-to-use automations, including templates for:

A Few Zap Setup Tips

When you’re ready to create your first automation, keep these tips in mind:

  • While you can build automations on mobile, it’s often easier to create or edit them on desktop, especially when mapping multiple fields.
  • Start with a trigger app you already actively use (like Gmail, Google Sheets, Slack, WordPress, Trello, or GitHub). Choose an event that represents something you’d want to capture in Day One.
  • When connecting to Day One, choose Create Journal Entry and select which journal new entries should be saved to.
    • If your journals are encrypted, they’ll appear by journal ID instead of by name.
    • Journals appear in the same order as they do in the Day One app.
  • Map fields from the trigger app (such as titles, body text, links, timestamps, email snippets, or metadata) into your journal entry.
  • Use Markdown to format your entry with headings, lists, spacing, or links.
  • Test the automation to make sure it looks right, then publish it so it runs automatically in the background.
  • Remember that not all apps appear in Zapier. Zapier only supports apps with open or publicly accessible APIs, so availability depends on whether an app allows third-party integrations.
  • Some automations may require Zapier Premium. Multi-step workflows or certain apps on Zapier may require a paid plan, depending on how the integration is set up.

Journaling That Works in the Background

With Zapier and Day One working together, your journal becomes a more complete reflection of your life. Whether you’re logging accomplishments, tracking creative projects, collecting research, or archiving your digital presence, automation makes journaling smoother, deeper, and more consistent.

Start exploring Day One + Zapier templates today and see how effortless journaling can become.

FAQs

What does the Zapier integration do?

Zapier allows you to automatically create new Day One entries based on activity in other apps you use. Whenever something happens in a connected app (like saving an article, completing a task, publishing a post, or creating a document), Zapier can send that information straight into your journal without manual work.

Do I need a Day One Premium account to use the integration?

Yes. The Zapier integration requires a Day One Premium account.

Why would I want to connect Zapier to Day One?

Automation helps you capture more of your life with less effort. Your journal becomes a more complete story of your life while reducing the time you spend copying between apps. For example, you can:

• Build a reading log
• Keep a work journal
• Track creative projects
• Save social posts
• Preserve ideas and research
• Document progress on habits or goals

Can Zapier read or access my existing journal entries?

No. Your journal remains private and fully encrypted. Zapier can only add new entries that you’ve configured through an automation. It cannot read, edit, export, or access your existing content.

What information can Zapier access in my Day One account?

Zapier can access:

• Your journal names, colors, and IDs
• Your user ID, display name, and email address
• The ability to create new Day One entries

Does Zapier overwrite or modify existing entries?

No. Zapier can only create new entries. It cannot update, delete, or edit anything already in your journal.

What actions does Day One support in Zapier?

Day One supports two actions:

Create Journal Entry — writes a new entry into a journal you choose
List Journals — retrieves your list of journals for advanced workflows

The integration does not support reading or exporting content from Day One

Is my encrypted journal compatible with Zapier?

Yes. If your journals are encrypted, they will appear in Zapier by journal ID. Entries created through Zapier will be encrypted just like any other entry in Day One.

Where will my automated entries be saved?

You choose the journal when setting up your automations in Zapier. You can direct content into a single journal (like “Reading Log,” “Work,” or “Ideas”), or create multiple automations for different journals.

Can I customize the format of each entry?

Yes. When you set up an automation, you can choose which fields to include and how the entry is formatted. Markdown is supported, so you can add headings, lists, links, and more.

How quickly will entries appear in Day One?

Most automations run within a few minutes, but timing depends on the connected app, your Zapier plan, and how frequently Zapier checks for new activity.

Do I need a paid Zapier account?

Some integrations and multi-step workflows require a paid Zapier subscription. Many basic automations work with free accounts, but connected apps or frequency limits vary depending on Zapier’s plans.

Does Day One send any data back to Zapier?

No. Day One does not send journal content or entry data to Zapier. Only the specific information you authorize within Zapier flows into Day One.

Where can I find the prebuilt automations (Zap templates)?

You can browse all of Day One’s prebuilt automations here. Each one includes example fields to help you get started quickly.

Can I disable the integration at any time?

Yes. You can remove Day One from your Zapier connections or revoke Zapier access directly in Day One’s settings. Once disconnected, no automations will continue running.

What happens if I delete a journal that’s being used in an automation?

Zapier will attempt to run the automation but will not be able to create entries. You’ll see an error inside Zapier and can update your workflow to use a different journal.

What happens if something goes wrong with an automation?

Zapier will notify you inside your Zapier dashboard if an automation fails. You can review the error, update the configuration, and test it again.

Where can I share feedback on the Zapier integration?

After using the new Zapier integration for Day One, we’d love your feedback. Let us know what you think here.

Turn Workouts into Memories: Connect Strava with Day One https://dayoneapp.com/blog/introducing-day-one-strava-integration/ Wed, 29 Oct 2025 20:51:36 +0000 https://dayoneapp.com/?p=135997 Automatically import your Strava activities as journal entries in Day One and bring your fitness journey to life with maps, photos, stats, and stories.

]]>
At Day One, our mission has always been to help you document life as you live it. Now, with the new Strava integration for Day One, you can automatically capture your workouts and adventures, so every ride, run, hike, or walk becomes part of your story in Day One.

This feature is available with Day One Premium in version 2025.22 of Day One for iPhone and iPad, Day One for Android, and Day One on the web.

Capture the Story Behind Every Run, Ride, and Hike

Each workout becomes a snapshot of a moment in your life: a morning run before sunrise, a hike that challenged you, or a ride that cleared your mind. When your workouts live inside your journal, you can see more than just numbers. You can reflect on your motivation, your environment, and how movement fits into the rhythm of your life.

Every imported Strava activity appears as a Day One journal entry, where you can add your own reflections, photos, videos, or notes—combining the flexibility of journaling with the detail of your Strava data. It’s the best of both worlds: the story and the stats. You can also view your Strava journal in List, Calendar, Media, or Map view to see your progress from every angle.

Key Features:

  • Smart Sync: Automatically imports your entire Strava activity history, beginning with your most recent activities. Older activities will continue importing in the background until your full history is synced.
  • Activity Details: Each entry includes your activity’s title, description, stats, and private notes.
  • Metadata Capture: Automatically records location and weather for each activity.
  • Interactive Maps: Relive your routes with a detailed, interactive map embedded in each entry.
  • Media + Stats: See your photos, distances, elevation, pace, and other key details at a glance.
  • Private by Design: All imported Strava entries are fully encrypted and visible only to you.

How to Get Started

  1. Make sure you’re a current Day One Premium customer, then update to Day One for iPhone or iPad, version 2025.22 or higher.
  2. Tap your profile in the upper right corner, then scroll through Settings.
  3. Tap Integrations, then Strava.
  1. On the next screen, you’ll see the option to Connect with Strava.
  1. You’ll then be directed to the Strava app, where you can Authorize Day One’s permissions.
  1. Once connected, you’ll see the Strava settings page updated with your account info. Day One will automatically create a new Strava journal for your Strava entries. Tap the Strava journal.
  1. Your new Strava journal will start syncing your workout into separate journal entries. You can toggle through each view to see your entries in List, Calendar, Media, and Map views, giving you a whole new way to look at your workout history in Day One. Let us know what you think here.

Note: When you first connect Strava, your most recent activities will appear in Day One. Additional past activities will continue to import in the background over time. New workouts from Strava will sync to Day One automatically, usually within a few moments.

  1. You can also connect your Strava account to Day One from Day One on the web. Log in here to get started. In the upper left corner of the screen, click the Settings gear. Visit the Account tab. Scroll to the Integrations section to find Strava, then click Connect. Follow the instructions to connect your Strava account to Day One. After syncing, you’ll be able to view your Strava workouts in the new Strava journal.
  1. After using the new Strava integration for Day One, we’d love your feedback. Let us know what you think here.

Print Your Strava Story

What starts as synced Strava journal entries can become something tangible: a Day One printed book filled with your routes, photos, and stats. Whether you’re documenting your marathon training from start to race day, a year of hiking, or your daily rides or walks, it’s something lasting you can hold and revisit.

Journaling for the Whole Journey

Movement and reflection often go hand in hand. Whether you’re logging a daily walk or training for a marathon, the Strava integration helps you capture not just your performance but the experience itself. Day One gives you a space to see how your physical, mental, and emotional journeys intersect so your workouts become part of your larger story.

Try it today and see how your movement comes to life in your journal.

FAQs

What does the Strava integration do?

With this integration, your Strava activities are automatically imported into Day One as journal entries. It’s a simple way to capture your fitness achievements and milestones without extra effort.

Do I need a Day One Premium account to use the integration?

Yes. The Strava integration requires a Day One Premium account.

Why would I want to send my Strava activity to Day One?

Bringing your Strava activities into Day One helps you see your fitness journey as part of your larger life story. Instead of keeping your workouts exclusively in a fitness app, you can connect them with your reflections, photos, and memories. It makes your exercise experiences part of your personal journal.

How long will it take for all my Strava activities to appear in Day One?

Day One imports your most recent activities right away. The rest of your Strava history will backfill automatically over time.

What are some examples of how I could use this?

• Document your training progress as you prepare for a race or event, like a marathon or triathlon.
• Reflect on how a workout made you feel, not just how far you went.
• Pair your runs, rides, or walks with photos and journal notes from the same day.
• Celebrate milestones l(ike your longest ride, fastest run, or most scenic hike) alongside your other life achievements.
• Look back at your workouts through On This Day in future years.
Print your Strava journal from Day One as a way to document your marathon training journey from start to finish.

Which platforms support the Strava integration?

The Strava integration is currently available on iOS (iPhone and iPad) in version 2025.22 or higher, and in Day One on the web.
Support for Android is coming soon.

Will my Strava images, videos, and maps appear in Day One?

Yes. Day One pulls in images and videos from your Strava activity. For maps, Day One rebuilds the map using the activity data, so it won’t be the exact same map image you see in Strava, but it will accurately reflect your route.

Does the integration include steps from Strava?

No. Strava does not provide step counts for activities like walks or runs. While Day One calculates steps based on distance and pace (using the same method Strava uses), the numbers may not match exactly. Expect small differences in step counts.

Can I resync an entry if I edit an activity in Strava?

Yes. Day One doesn’t receive notifications for all changes you make in Strava after an activity has synced. If you edit or update an activity in Strava, you can resync it in Day One. This will refresh the entry with the latest data from Strava and overwrite the existing one.

At Day One, our mission is to help you capture life’s moments through a journaling experience that feels personal, intuitive, and secure. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Apple Intelligence in Day One, bringing powerful new journaling tools with your privacy in mind.

Powered by Apple’s Foundation Models framework, all AI processing happens privately on your device. Your entries never leave your device, no data is collected or shared with third parties, and everything works completely offline.

Apple Intelligence features are available in Day One for iPhone and iPad (version 2025.19) on compatible devices running iOS 26.

New Journaling Tools Powered by Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence brings three new tools to the Day One editor, each designed to make journaling more insightful and easy to revisit. These features are using the Foundation Models framework which taps into the on-device model at the core of Apple Intelligence:

  • Go Deeper Prompts – Generate dynamic prompts in the entry editor based on what you’ve written, helping you reflect further and uncover new insights.
  • Entry Title Suggestions – Receive smart, contextual title ideas generated from your writing, so it’s easier to capture your entry with clarity.
  • Entry Highlights – See a concise bulleted list of the most important points from your entry, making it simple to revisit key themes later.

Privacy You Can Trust

  • All AI processing happens on your device
  • Your entry content never leaves your device
  • Works completely offline

These features are completely optional. You can turn them on or off anytime under Settings > Apple Intelligence.

How to Get Started

  1. Check your device version. Apple Intelligence is compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the entire iPhone 16 lineup (including the 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max). See additional info and system requirements.
  2. Update your device. Be sure to install iOS 26 and update to Day One version 2025.19.

  1. Opt in. The first time you use Apple Intelligence in Day One, you’ll see an opt-in notice. Tap Proceed to enable Apple Intelligence.

  1. Once you’ve finished writing your entry, try Entry Title Suggestions to generate quick titles for your entry. Tap one of the title options to insert it as the title of your entry.
  1. Finally, check out Entry Highlights. You’ll see a concise bulleted list of the most important points from your entry, making it simple to revisit key themes later.

At any time, you can manage your settings under Settings > Apple Intelligence in Day One.

A note for Labs users: If you previously enabled Entry Summary in Labs, you’ll now find it updated as Entry Highlights. To continue using it, go to Labs and manually enable the new toggle. Starting in version 2025.19, Entry Summary has been temporarily replaced with Entry Highlights, with a new system prompt and bullet-point formatting.

Notes on Using These Features

Apple Intelligence is still evolving, and you may notice variation in the quality or style of the prompts and highlights you receive. We’ll continue refining these features to ensure they feel natural, consistent, and deeply helpful in your journaling practice. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us improve the feature in future updates.

The Next Chapter in Journaling is Here

With Apple Intelligence in Day One, you can enjoy new journaling tools that honor your privacy while helping you reflect in deeper ways. These features mark the beginning of a more meaningful, personal, and secure journaling experience.

FAQs

Why would I want to use AI in my journaling?

We understand that using AI in journaling might feel like a big step, especially for something as personal as your journal. It’s natural to have questions or concerns about privacy and security.

At Day One, we see AI as a creative companion, not a replacement for your voice. Features like Go Deeper prompts, entry highlights, and title suggestions can make journaling more accessible, intuitive, and rewarding. Many users find that AI helps them reflect more deeply, uncover new insights, and revisit their writing in fresh ways.

Most importantly, your privacy remains paramount. All processing happens on your device, with nothing leaving your journal. Your entries stay yours and yours alone.

Do I have to use these features to continue using Day One?

No. Apple Intelligence features in Day One are completely optional and turned off by default. You can turn on or off anytime from Settings > Apple Intelligence.

Can I turn these features off later?

Yes. You can turn them on or off anytime from Settings > Apple Intelligence.

Do I need to write a certain amount for these AI features to work?

These Apple Intelligence features work best if you’ve written a few sentences or more into an entry, as it uses the context of what you’ve written in an individual entry to tailor its suggestions. If you’re not sure where to begin, don’t worry. We provide a few starting prompts to help you get going.

What does it mean that these features run on my device?

These features use Apple’s Foundation Model, which runs directly on compatible devices with Apple Intelligence enabled. That means your journal entries are processed on your iPhone or iPad, never leave your device, and are not shared or stored elsewhere. This also allows the features to work even when you’re offline.

Which devices support Apple Intelligence in Day One?

Apple Intelligence requires a compatible device (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 & 17 models are supported), running iOS 26. Here’s a list of compatible devices and system requirements from Apple.

How can I check if my device supports these features?

Once you’ve updated to version 2025.19 of Day One for iPhone and iPad, you can check compatibility by going to Settings > Apple Intelligence in Day One. If your device supports these features, you’ll see the option to turn them on.

Where does my journal content go when I use Apple Intelligence?

Because Day One uses the Apple Foundation Model to power these AI features, all processing happens directly on your device. Your journal entries never leave your device and everything works offline.

Will Day One collect or store my journal’s contents when I use Apple Intelligence?

No. Day One does not collect, transmit, or store any of your journal’s contents when you use these features. It means everything happens locally on your iPhone or iPad, so your entries never leave your device, none of your content is stored or shared, and the features work even when you’re offline.

Why don’t I see the Apple Intelligence icon in my entry editor toolbar?

Make sure you’re running iOS 26 (or later) and Day One version 2025.19. Also confirm you’re on a compatible device. You’ll need to start writing in an entry before the toolbar appears.

What happened to Entry Summary in Labs?

The Entry Summary feature previously available in Labs has been replaced with Entry Highlights in version 2025.19. If you had previously enabled Entry Summary in Labs, you’ll need to re-enable the new Entry Highlights feature.

Can I use these features offline?

Yes. Go Deeper prompts, Entry Title Suggestions, and Entry Highlights all work even when you don’t have an internet connection.

Will more AI features be added in the future?

Yes, we’re just getting started. We’re exploring additional tools that bring more intelligence and privacy together in journaling. We also have additional AI features available in Day One Labs that aren’t powered by Apple Intelligence.

Where can I share my feedback on these features?

We’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on these features. Share your input here.

If you’re currently running Day One for iPhone or iPad (version 2025.17 or higher) or Day One for Android (version 2025.19 or higher) and you still don’t see Prompt Packs, visit Settings > Prompt Packs to toggle them on. If your device language isn’t set to English, Prompt Packs aren’t enabled by default.

Which Prompt Pack should I start with?

It depends on your goals. If you’re looking to focus on gratitude, start with a Gratitude Pack. Want to explore mindfulness? Try a Mindfulness Pack. If you’re completely new, you might try the About Me pack to explore your personal bio. You can browse the full library to see which theme resonates most with you right now.

Can I upload my own Prompt Packs?

Not yet, but we’re working on functionality that will allow you to create your own custom Prompt Packs. Stay tuned for updates.

Are you open to Prompt Pack creator collaborations?

Yes. We’d love to hear from authors, journaling coaches, mental health professionals, educators, and other content creators with ideas for Prompt Packs. Please contact us here and select “Content Development” to share how you’d like to partner with Day One.

We’re excited to introduce our new Day One browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox. Now you can capture what inspires you online, like articles, highlights, and notes — and save them directly to your Day One journal.

Capture What Matters While You Browse

Whether it’s something to learn from, reflect on, or simply remember, the extension gives you an easy way to save it. Rather than disappearing into bookmarks, what you save becomes part of your personal timeline in Day One.

With the Day One browser extensions, you can:

  • Save web pages in one click. Capture the title and URL of the page you’re viewing. Add a note or tags before sending it to your journal.
  • Highlight and save text. Select any text on a webpage, right-click, and choose “Save to Day One” to clip it into a new entry.
  • Add more context. Include a note or custom tags so you can easily find your entries later.
  • Stay organized. The first time you use the extension, Day One creates a dedicated Bookmarks journal to keep your saved content tidy and separate from personal entries.

Private by Design

Like everything in Day One, your content stays private and secure. Entries saved through the extension are end-to-end encrypted, synced to your account, and available across your devices.

How to Get Started

  1. Install the extension for Chrome or Firefox. Both are free to download.
  2. Once installed, click the new Day One icon in your browser.
  3. Sign in with your Day One account (or create one for free). For a speedy login, scan the login QR code with any device logged into Day One.
  4. Start saving what matters to you.

Check out the full tutorial for getting started with the Day One browser extensions.

Other Ways to Save to Day One

In addition to the new Day One extensions for Chrome and Firefox, we offer other quick ways to send content from the web straight into your journal.

  • Safari Extension: Bundled with the Day One Mac app, the Safari extension lets you save content from the web directly through Safari to the Day One Mac app.
  • Safari Share Extension: Available on iOS and Mac through the system share sheet—send links, photos, and text from other apps into Day One. You can also save a PDF of the entire web page from Safari.
  • Email to Journal: Premium users can forward links, highlights, or notes from any device straight to your Day One account with email.

Download for Free Today

The Day One browser extensions make it easy to capture what matters most while you browse. From research projects to daily inspiration, it’s never been easier to save the ideas, stories, and quotes you want to remember.

We believe that everyone deserves the freedom to journal the way they want, whether that’s documenting everyday moments, organizing thoughts across different areas of life, or sharing meaningful entries with others. That’s why we’re excited to share a big change: all Day One users can now create unlimited journals, no Premium upgrade required.

Whether you’re writing daily reflections, collecting travel memories, tracking milestones, or simply organizing different parts of your life, you now have the freedom to create a journal for each of them.

To access this update, make sure you’re using Day One version 2025.11 on iOS or Android, or log in to Day One on the web.

Why We Made This Change

Over the years, we’ve learned that people love creating different journals for different parts of life. You might already have one for daily thoughts or reflections, but you could also have a journal just for:

  • Travel memories
  • A child’s milestones
  • Your marathon training
  • Books you’ve read or want to read
  • Favorite meals and recipes
  • Creative writing ideas
  • A shared journal with a friend, partner, or group

Having separate journals makes it easier to focus, stay organized, and be more intentional about what you’re capturing. And now, even if you’re using Day One for free, you can explore all of those possibilities—with no upgrade required.

A Fresh New Start: Inspiring Journal Ideas Built In

To make it easier to get started, we’ve redesigned the journal creation flow with a fresh experience that includes inspiring journal name suggestions.

These ideas are based on popular ways people already use Day One, helping you discover new ways to journal that you may not have considered before. Not sure what to name your next journal? Simply pick from the list and start writing.

Shared Journals, Now for Everyone

We’re also making Shared Journals available to everyone, so you can create and collaborate on journals together. Whether you’re planning a trip, documenting a project, or reflecting alongside someone you care about, Shared Journals are a thoughtful way to stay connected through journaling.

Shared Journals follow the same plan-based limits as personal journals:

  • Free users can create and join shared journals, with up to 1 photo per entry.
  • (Legacy) Plus users can include up to 10 photos per entry, and also no videos.
  • Premium users enjoy full media support, including videos and higher photo limits.

For example: If a free user creates a shared journal and invites a Premium friend, that Premium user will be able to add videos to their entries, but the free user won’t. This ensures that each person’s journaling experience reflects their plan’s capabilities, whether solo or shared.

A Note for Our Premium Users

Thank you for supporting Day One as a Premium subscriber. While unlimited journals are now available to all users, Premium remains the best way to get the most out of Day One. With unlimited photos and videos, multi-device sync, audio recording, transcription, and more, Day One Premium gives you the freedom to journal without limits. Your support also helps us keep building a world-class journaling experience for everyone.

Create Your Next Journal Today

This update is all about unlocking more ways to make journaling personal, practical, and powerful, either together or on your own.

Start your next journal today. You never know where it might take you.

At Day One, we believe in journaling in all its forms. Day One paper journals are designed to complement your digital journaling practice, giving you more ways to reflect and express yourself, whether you’re unplugged, off-screen, or simply in the mood for handwriting.

Meet the Day One Paper Journal Collection

The collection includes three beautifully crafted journals, each tailored to inspire self-reflection, creativity, and habit-building:

The Daily Journal

Capture the essence of your day in just a few lines with the Daily Journal. This simple yet meaningful companion makes it easy to build a consistent journaling habit, perfect for personal reflection and growth.

The Prompts Journal

With the Prompts Journal, you can embark on a journey of self-discovery with 90 thought-provoking prompts across themes like gratitude, creativity, relationships, and more. Each prompt includes a QR code that opens it directly in the Day One app, bridging the gap between paper and digital journaling.

The Gratitude Journal

Cultivate mindfulness and focus on life’s small joys with daily prompts. The Gratitude Journal is designed to help you reflect on the moments, experiences, and people that bring joy and meaning to your life.

Why Paper?

Journaling has always been about more than just words. It’s about creating a connection—with your thoughts, your memories, and your story. While digital journaling provides unmatched convenience and versatility, the tactile experience of writing on paper can inspire mindfulness, spark creativity, and foster a deeper sense of reflection.

Our paper journals are designed to:

  • Enhance your digital journaling habit: Use them alongside the Day One app to create a balanced practice.
  • Encourage unplugged moments: Rediscover the magic of analog writing when you’re off-screen.
  • Provide a timeless keepsake: Paper journals offer a tangible way to preserve your thoughts and memories for years to come.

Plus, with QR code integration in the Prompts Journal, you can load each prompt directly in the Day One app, or easily bring photos of your paper journal entries into the app with the camera feature, connecting your paper and digital journaling experiences.

Bundle and Save with the 3-Pack

Explore the collection to discover your perfect journal, or opt for the 3-pack bundle with Premium to experience all three. Plus, when you purchase the bundle, you’ll also receive a gift code for Day One Premium*—a perfect way to combine handwritten reflection with powerful digital journaling features.

*Note: The Premium gift code is valid for new Day One accounts only.
