Note: Editing an entry’s location is not currently possible using the Web\/Windows apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edit or Revert the Location<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Single Entry<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

iOS:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Open the entry you wish to edit or revert its location from.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Swipe to the bottom of the entry and tap the map to view metadata for the entry (see Metadata<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Tap the current location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Select Edit Location<\/strong> or Remove Location<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. To edit, search for the location you want to update your entries to, and select it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    MacOS:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    1. Click the Filter<\/strong> icon at the top of the screen\u2014it looks like three lines and is located to the left of the magnifying glass Search<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. When the “Filter by” menu appears, choose Place<\/strong> and type in the location that you wish to change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Tap outside the “Filter by” menu, and you will be able to see the total number of entries with that location. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. At the top, click Select All to include all related entries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Click the three-dot (\u2022\u2022\u2022) menu<\/strong> in the top-right corner of the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Choose Edit<\/strong>, then Multiple Locations<\/strong>, and then Edit<\/strong> again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Enter the new address, and when asked to confirm the location change, click Continue<\/strong> to apply the update to all selected entries.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Android<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      1. Open the entry and tap the map<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Tap Location > Attach location<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Search for a location if necessary, then move the map around to position the pin precisely (you can pinch to zoom for greater accuracy)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Tap the checkmark to save the new location.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Multiple Entries<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        iOS:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

        1. Swipe left on an entry and tap the Select option to activate Multi-Select<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Once multi-select is enabled, tap the checkbox(es) next to the entry(s) you want to change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Tap the \u2022\u2022\u2022 menu in the bottom right and select Edit Location<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. Either tap Remove Location<\/strong>, or search for the location you want to update your entries to, and select it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        5. Tap Replace<\/strong> to apply the new location to all the selected entries. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          MacOS:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

            It’s not currently possible to edit the location of multiple entries at once on Android.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1. Open the entry you wish to remove its location from.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Tap the three-dot (\u2022\u2022\u2022) menu<\/strong> at the bottom (see Metadata<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Tap the location line in the metadata window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            4. Select “Remove Location”.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              MacOS:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

              1. Open the entry you wish to remove its location from.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

                      Android<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                      It’s not currently possible to remove the location of multiple entries at once on Android.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                      Troubleshooting incorrect locations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                      Android<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                      The location is determined approximately based on wifi\/cellular signal, so it may need adjusting to be more accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                      Open your phone’s settings and go to Settings > Location, and tap on Day One, then make sure that ‘Use precise location’ is enabled (if available).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                      Some Android devices also have a ‘Low accuracy mode’ for location, so check for that setting, and disable it if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                      It may also be worth opening Google Maps and checking whether your location is accurately shown there. If not, you can improve that as described in Google’s support guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
