Some issues are hard for us to resolve without seeing some more Mac OS X system details and crash reports. Please share the following with us if your app is freezing, crashing, or moving slowly. These will help us diagnose those performance issues for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps to Gather Crash Reports<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n

  1. Open Finder<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

  2. Select Go to Folder\u2026 from the Go menu <\/span><\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

  3. Enter: ~\/Library\/Logs\/DiagnosticReports\/ <\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

  4. In the resulting list select everything that starts with \u201cDay One\u201d<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

  5. Attach each of these crash reports to the support request<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If there are a lot of files, please compress them by following these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n

    1. Select all the \u201cDay One\u201d crash reports (use the CMD key to select multiple files in Finder).<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

    2. Select Compress X Items (where X is the amount of items selected) from the File menu to create a file called Archive.zip.<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

    3. Attach Archive.zip to the support request. <\/span><\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Console Logs<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      We may also ask for logs from Console<\/i>, a utility that tracks diagnostic information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Console<\/i> is found in the Utilities<\/i> folder, located in your Mac\u2019s Applications<\/i> folder. You can also launch Console<\/i> by using Spotlight<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Steps to Export Logs from Console<\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        \n

      1. Launch Console. <\/span><\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

      2. If Show Log List is in the top left corner of the toolbar, click it. This will display a pane on the left side of the Console window. (If Hide Log List is in the left corner of the toolbar, you can ignore this step.) <\/span><\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

      3. In the left pane, under the heading System Log Queries, click All Messages.<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

      4. Choose File > Save a Copy As\u2026 and save the file.<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n

      5. Send this exported file to us as a zipped attachment to your support issue.<\/p> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Activity Monitor Logs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        If there are no crash logs, Activity Monitor Logs can be very helpful to find out what went wrong that led to the app slowdown, exiting, closing suddenly, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Steps to export logs from Activity Monitor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        1. While the Day One app is having issues (e.g., slowdown), open up Activity Monitor<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Search for Day One, select the main Day One Process with the standard blue & white icon and choose “Sample Process.” This will record everything the app is doing for 10 seconds. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Save this as a text file and send it to support.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
