If you are experiencing syncing issues with our servers, please proceed with caution. While there is no specified minimum hardware, users are advised to ensure they are using the <strong>latest version of their preferred browser for optimal performance<\/strong> <strong>and behavior<\/strong>. To confirm your browser version, you can visit websites such as <a href=\"https:\/\/browsehappy.com\/\">Browse Happy<\/a> or check with the specific browser vendor to identify the latest version available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that Day One Web is compatible with most browsers, except for Mozilla Firefox in private mode, where functionality may be compromised. For the best experience, users are encouraged to use the latest version of their browser outside of private mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-day-one-web-version\">Day One Web Version<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is possible to check the app version on <code>Settings -&gt; Advanced<\/code>. If all the web app data is synced to the server, then it&#8217;s suggested that you log out and log back in to be able to sync down the rest of your content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Logging out will clear your local browser data and logging back in will put you back in sync with the Day One servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If logging out doesn&#8217;t work then you can also clear your cache and cookies in the browser you are using.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-web-not-pushing-content\">Web Not Pushing Content<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:#000000\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">\u26a0\ufe0f Proceed with Caution<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to your data only being stored locally, you need to proceed with caution. We also suggest clearing your browser&#8217;s cache and cookies, as outdated or corrupted data might affect loading times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Device Performance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage you to use a device that has sufficient resources (RAM, CPU) for a smoother experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Third-Party Extensions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Browser extensions potentially could be slowing down the Day One web application. Then it is suggested that you first try updating your browser to the latest version and ensuring that you are <a href=\"https:\/\/dayoneapp.com\/guides\/day-one-on-the-web\/day-one-web-troubleshooting\/#h-system-requirements\">meeting our system requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Day One team monitors crashes and errors, but there is still a potential we miss some. It&#8217;s important to <a href=\"https:\/\/dayoneapp.com\/guides\/day-one-on-the-web\/day-one-web-troubleshooting\/#h-report-a-problem\">report a problem<\/a> with reproducible steps, where possible. If the Day One web application is crashing before you can ever can report the problem via the application, then it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/dayoneapp.com\/guides\/contact-support\/contact-day-one-support\/\">suggested you contact support<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-data-loss\">Data Loss<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our top priority is protecting your data. <a href=\"https:\/\/dayoneapp.com\/guides\/troubleshooting\/data-loss-and-recovery-options\/\">We have a guide for data loss and recovery options that can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure that you are indeed signed into the correct account, as it&#8217;s very common and easy to accidentally sign into a different account. Multiple accounts is common due to multiple sign-in methods. <a href=\"https:\/\/dayoneapp.com\/guides\/day-one-on-the-web\/day-one-web-troubleshooting\/#h-multiple-accounts\">Please review the steps here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some Day One applications support a trash can feature for entries that were accidentally deleted. <a href=\"https:\/\/dayoneapp.com\/guides\/tips-and-tutorials\/recover-deleted-entries-from-trash\/\">You may view that guide here, to potentially restore deleted journal entries.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dayoneapp.com\/guides\/contact-support\/contact-day-one-support\/\">If all else fails, you may contact support and we will attempt to recover your data.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-run-out-of-browser-storage-space-quota-exceeded\">Run out of Browser Storage space &#8211; Quota exceeded<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Day One Web stores data locally. The space on the browser is limited by the browser type space taken by other apps. If you see a message indicating you are out of space, you can try offloading some of the journals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Journal settings toggle the option Do Not Sync, your journal will be removed from the sidebar and the entries will be removed from the Browser Storage, freeing up space.
